Nightmare Clients of the Week

Nightmare Clients for the Week of October 8th-October 15th

1. Lawrence Phillips, former NFL running back, tried to run over some people, and ended up injuring three [Lawrence Phillips convicted of assault, facing 20 years]. Who doesn’t try to run over kids when they rudely try to join a friendly football game? [No coach ever solved Lawrence Phillips].

2. Steve Foley of the San Diego Chargers has been charged with 2 counts of misdemeanor DUI, but he still can’t walk after being shot 3 times by police [More trouble for Foley: Chargers LB now facing DUI].

3. Jerry Porter of the Oakland Raiders has been suspended 4 games after he complained about a long practice [Sources: Porter’s mouth gets Raiders WR suspended]. The suspension may not be enforced, though [Raiders suspend Porter over remark].

4. Steve Lyons, broadcaster for Fox baseball, didn’t understand Lou Piniella, made some racially insensitive remarks, and is now jobless [Fox fires Lyons for racially insensitive comment on air]. And yes…if you were wondering, broadcasters also use agents to get positions at major networks.

Heitner has represented numerous athletes and sports agents as legal counsel.
