  • Posting and Toasting envisions the Knicks taking a guy named Almond from Rice University (mmmm…almonds and rice) or the cook who prepares such a dish…Daequan Cook, with the 23rd pick in the draft.
  • Passion and Pride hedges his mock drafting bets by making the 76ers possible picks into multiple choice possibilities. You had me going until you said Andre Iguodala is on the cusp of stardom.
  • And if you do not care about future players who will be drafted and are more interested in what current players are doing in the offseason, The Sports Hernia Blog has you covered. It is hard to believe that Kobe could possibly be contemplating passing.

So I lost you when I said Iguodala was on the verge of becoming a star? It’s not so far fetched. Consider that he came out from Arizona as a sophomore and was never asked to do the things he did this year, and you can see why. If he stayed in school for all 4 years, this would have been his rookie season (and a pretty good one at that). The best comparison I can draw is another guy who came out as a sophomore, Atlanta’s Joe Johnson.

I believe in the other AI (Iggy)…I must not favor him as much because I had to hear my old roommate talk about how damn underrated he was every day.

Anyone who believes that Iguodala isn’t on the cusp of stardom needs to brush up on their basketball scouting.
