Extra Large Updates

We love updates, and you should too!

  • New sports agencies were added to the Agencies page on the header menu. Agencies were added in Wisconsin, New Jersey, California, and more. Check out the largest free web repository of sports agencies located on SportsAgentBlog.com.
  • Check out the right column menu. If you have not noticed it, we have been adding progressively to this new feature by the day. Now, not only can you check out our lovely sponsors, browse through the archieves and see what was posted exactly a year ago, subscribe for free via RSS or by email, but you can also see the past week’s Featured Post. Every Friday when Shabbat Shalom: Friday Wrap-Up is posted, I will include the week’s Featured Post. A picture, link, and blurb will remain on the site in the right column until the next Friday Wrap-Up is posted. Please leave your Featured Post suggestions in the new Suggestions board in the Forum or email them to me.
  • The right column menu also has some more nice additions. You no longer need to scroll down to the footer to see the latest posts you have missed. You may still choose to do so, because the footer includes the 10 most recent posts, the date, and number of comments. On the right column under Archives, there is now an abbreviated listing of the 5 most recent posts.
  • We are testing out a new chat feature. On the header menu, you will see a new link to Chat. Clicking on the link will open a new window with the SportsAgentBlog.com Official Chat Room. I will keep that window open as much as possible. We are also looking for a sponsor to maintain the chat room. Great exposure… 🙂

By Darren Heitner

Darren Heitner created Sports Agent Blog as a New Year's Resolution on December 31, 2005. Originally titled, "I Want To Be A Sports Agent," the website was founded with the intention of causing Heitner to learn more about the profession that he wanted to join, meet reputable individuals in the space and force himself to stay on top of the latest news and trends.

Heitner now runs Heitner Legal, P.L.L.C., which is a law firm with many practice areas, including sports law and contract law. Heitner has represented numerous athletes and sports agents as legal counsel. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University Bloomington from 2011-2014, where he created and taught a course titled, Sport Agency Management, which included subjects ranging from NCAA regulations to athlete agent certification and the rules governing the profession. Heitner serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he teaches a Sports Law class that includes case law surrounding athlete agents and the NCAA rules.
