No More Bush…Please

Reggie Bush broke legs in college. His moves were enough to gain him the Heisman Trophy and earn him first round money after being drafted by the New Orleans Saints. But Reggie had to finish the 2007 NFL season on the sidelines while his name continued to surface in Yahoo! Sports exclusives. This was recently followed up with a book about his tarnished? past, called Tarnished Heisman, written by Don Yaeger.

The last thing that Reggie Bush needs right now is more dirt being dug up during the off-season. An undrafted free agent by the name of Pierre Thomas took a majority of the snaps from the backfield in the Saints’ 2007 finale, accumulating 105 yards on 20 carries and an additional 121 yards receiving. This feat may have been accomplished against a largely dismantled Chicago Bears defense and was achieved in the last game of the season, but Pierre picked up stats that Reggie was supposed to generate on a normal basis. Should Reggie start feeling his job just a tad threatened?

Kim KardashianSo how does Reggie Bush feel when yet another piece comes out about his troubled past? It’s no $300,000 in cash and benefits that was apparently given to the Bush family by Lloyd Lake and Michael Michaels, but news recently broke that another marketing agent may have been in discussions with Bush about doing some marketing work on his behalf, including creation of a personal website.

There comes a point where you really have to feel bad for the guy. He was getting bad advice, took some money from the wrong people, and talked to some gentlemen that he was not permitted to talk to. At least his girl, Kim Kardashian, has his back. Apparently, she kicked Lloyd Lake’s ass out of a San Diego club in no time this past weekend.

A couple opinions to be delivered in the ever so striking bullet format:

– Reggie Bush’s story is best told be Reggie Bush. not Llyod Lake who is a convicted felon and accordingly not allegedly outing Bush because of his good heart, but because of a deal gone bad.

– Bush’s story is not best told by Yahoo!!!!! Exclusives who we know has enact for either creating stories that don’t exist or just seeking out the absurd to try to create some form of relevance.

– Don Yeager, is obviously going to create or tell a story so deeming, so out there. But why? To sell more copies of his book and to get the most press time. If there was no information avialable or information that spoke to a side that Yeager didn’t believe, do you really think he would report such. Not only is he a troll, but he is a greedy troll, the worst kind of troll.

– Reggie Bush was injured not benched, that is why the other running back did so well.

– Do you understand football, or do you understand sports contracts and marketing. I recommend that you stick to your day job, because if you knew anything about football you would know Bush’s position on the field as a game changer who works best as a “do all” kind of back, who works best out of a two back system. When the Saints drafted him they obviously said to themselves, “wow what a great pairing he would be with Duece and how well would he work in the slot” not “when Duece gets hurt, we’ll make him a featured back.

– In addition to that point, I couldn’t say it better in limmerick, so I’ll just say it bluntly, “Wow way to discredit someone’s great first season, because they are injured in the last couple of games of the following season”

– So let me get this straight your going to take all your information about Reggie Bush and his family from a convicted criminal. Hypothetically, even if he was paid a sum of money, what effect does this have on his ability on the field. Come on its not like he took steroids. Really, why is it that half of America suggests that college athletes should be paid, but when a player tries to slide something under the table to make better for his family, people go ape shit.

– Didn’t you learn from “The American President” that picking on someone’s girlfriend doesn’t make your judgement of someone’s character correct. Just because he is going to marry a girl who is 20x to the nth power hotter than any girl you will get in not one, two , or three lifetimes, does not mean you have to rear your jealous head, or open your jealous mouth. Here’s a tip, please go and learn the Mystery Method (Wiki it) and go outside, and kiss a girl.

-That’s the end of my burn, please get back to doing what you do best, writing about being a sports agent which ironically this article didn’t touch.

Damn man, chill out. The dude only stated what most people feel about reggie bush at the moment.
Hopefully all the allegations are false and he comes back next season and shows everyone why he was the #1 rb coming out of college.

No matter who tells the story, it will be biased. The journalists want to portray an interesting story. Bush would want to avoid all criticism. I am not sure that Bush’s version would be the best read.

I never said Bush was benched. In fact, I said he was injured. But that has nothing to do with why Pierre performed well against the Bears.

I would like to believe that I understand football along with sports contracts and marketing. I’ll stick to my day job, which includes making judgment on performance. I did not discredit Bush’s season, but he still has a lot to prove.

Half of America (or more) suggest that college athletes should be paid, but when a player tries to slide something under the table to make better for his family, people go ape shit. Until college athletes ARE ALLOWED to get paid, it is illegal. There really is nothing more to say about this.

I never bashed Kim Kardashian, but you can have fun attempting to diss my sex life, which I promise is much more exciting than yours.

Thanks for your input. It was much appreciated.

This other marketing agent is as shady as the day is long. His corporate website listed Adrian Peterson as a marketing client recently until he got a cease and desist letter from Adrian’s attorney and actual marketing agent.

The same year he claims to have these discussions with Reggie he had websites up for several other top draft clients including AJ Hawk, Winston Justice, Tamba Hali, and others. Until he got a cease and desist letter from their agents.

He’s just looking for attention to try and launch his company, he’s tried lying and deceiving people now he’ll try to hop on this train wreck.

Again, opinions stated in the aforementioned bullet points:

– First off, let me state that the other article today was an excellent post. I enjoyed it.
– However, your response to my comment, leads one to believe that you can give it but you can’t take it.
– Illegal? Did Bush break the law, or just the rules of an organization that makes billions of dollars off of college kids, while having anti-trust exempt status. Illegal would be doing something to the likes of killing dogs.
– No you did not say that he was injured what you said was “Reggie had to finish the 2007 NFL season on the sidelines”
– Would you like me to decipher meaning from statement, the same way how one can easily decipher your picture of Kim Kardashian in this article, as a cause to Reggie Bush having so many problems or a judger on his character. One could easily think here that your pulling a Romo maneuver similar to Yahoo Exclamation Point.
– So you judge performance, and also criticize by stating any counter argument in such a nonchalant matter that it makes your argument look great. The Bears were ranked 24th in the league in rushing. Thomas’ game says nothing about Bush. If you judge performance know that Bush is a second finesse back (see MJD). Any second year back still has something to prove.
– I will not comment on degree of sexual prowlness as I was comparing you to Reggie Bush, not you to myself, as you took the liberty to comment on someone else, therefor you open yourself to criticism. But, if we were going to comment on my own sexual habits, I would say that I’m doing pretty well for myself, as I judge on performance.

I can give it and take it. I honestly appreciate you making this discussion more interesting and I open this blog up to all for comments.

Good response on the illegality issue; however, whether it be a law or rule, it is stupid to break it knowing that it could cost you tons down the line (not saying Reggie actually broke any rules…letting others determine that).

I give Reggie props for landing Kardashian and Romo a high five for getting Simpson.

And all I was saying is that Reggie still has much to prove, especially after Thomas put up such nice numbers in the last game of the season, even if it was against the Bears. Bush does not have the same build as MJD. I do not think you can compare the two.

Let’s make a deal and leave sex lives off of this blog.
