Shabbat Shalom: Friday Wrap-Up

This week’s Friday Wrap-Up is coming to you live from the Reitz Auditorium at the University of Florida. The UF Sports Symposium is underway, and it has been a great success thus far. Other exciting news: Tomorrow is my birthday! Anyway, here are some stories that I looked over during this past week:

  • Curtis Granderson signed a nice pre-arbitration-eligible contract. Low end – $30.25 million over 5 years. High end – $43.25 over 6 years [Tigers lock up outfielder Granderson with five-year, $30.25M deal].
  • Gotta love how the internet continues to provide excellent exposure for athletes through free scouting services [Scouts, athletes using Internet to connect].
  • Darren McFadden will be represented by Mike Conley, Sr for marketing and Ian Greengross for his NFL contract [LIKE IT IS : Conley’s good name sullied in Cadillac spat].
  • Santonio Holmes and McLovin from Superbad arrived together at the Maxim party and then did interviews as a twosome…what Gangstaaaaaaaaaaasss [7 Maxim moments].
  • Emmett Jones hosted the latest edition of Sports Business Carnival [Sports Business Carnival #9].
  • Catch Shaq as a jockey in the vitaminwater Super Bowl commercial? Apparently Diesel is also hung better than his jockey counterparts. What will his new Phoenix Suns teammates think about these ads? [Horsin’ Around with Shaq – URINAL]

The featured post for the next week is: Don’t Player Hate, Arbitrate. It located on the right sidebar under Featured.
