Dynasty Adds Gary Amato To Its Growing Baseball Division

amatoGary Amato is a 6’2 200 lbs pitcher out of Penn State University. He was born in Cocoa Beach,FL, where he led Cocoa Beach High School with a 1.64 ERA, 72 strikeouts and a .403 batting average his junior year (’03); and as team captain senior year (’04), putting up a 1.08 ERA with 117 strikeouts and a no-hitter during senior season.

Amato is a hard throwing sinkerball pitcher whose fastball touches in the low/mid 90’s.  At the advice of his pitching coaches, Amato started throwing from a sidearm motion for the 2009 season and it has paid off. The Pittsburgh Pirates selected Amato in the 2007 draft. He has been used primarily as a reliever/closer ever since.

Amato is Dynasty‘s seventh signed client on a Minor League professional roster and is the first Pittsburgh Pirate organization client for the company.  Bryan Swalley will serve as Amato’s primary agent.

Darren Heitner created Sports Agent Blog as a New Year's Resolution on December 31, 2005. Originally titled, "I Want To Be A Sports Agent," the website was founded with the intention of causing Heitner to learn more about the profession that he wanted to join, meet reputable individuals in the space and force himself to stay on top of the latest news and trends.

Heitner now runs Heitner Legal, P.L.L.C., which is a law firm with many practice areas, including sports law and contract law. Heitner has represented numerous athletes and sports agents as legal counsel. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University Bloomington from 2011-2014, where he created and taught a course titled, Sport Agency Management, which included subjects ranging from NCAA regulations to athlete agent certification and the rules governing the profession. Heitner serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he teaches a Sports Law class that includes case law surrounding athlete agents and the NCAA rules.
