C. Lamont Smith Launches Above the Rim Management

Yesterday, it was announced that C. Lamont Smith has established a new sports management company named, Above the Rim Management.  “Above the Rim Management represents the next chapter in my career, and I am excited about the future,” exclaims C. Lamont Smith.

The new sports management firm will focus on professional basketball players and coaches as the sister company of All Pro Sports and Entertainment (“APSE”), which has represented football players including Jerome BettisBarry Sanders, and Eddie George.  As noted in this Forbes article dated May 21, 2012, APSE is in the middle of pending litigation against Peter SchafferJR Rickert, and their company Authentic Athletix, LLC.

The first signing of Above the Rim Management is Jamar Samuels, formerly of Kansas State.  Samuels is currently ranked as the 78th best 2012 NCAA Senior.  He averaged 10 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in his senior season.  “If I work hard on the court, I know that C. Lamont Smith will be working harder for me off the court. He is a very humble man,” said Samuels.

Additionally, Above the Rim Management has stated that it is currently interviewing other agencies for acquisition and/or merger.  The company asks that if more information is requested, to contact [email protected].
