Cedric Davis and Travis Bell of Newport Beach, CA-based The Seven Bridges Group have announced the signing of University of New Mexico free safety Freddy Young to a representation agreement.
Young, who was a four-year letterman, played cornerback and safety and brought a steady influence to the New Mexico secondary. He finished his collegiate career with 40 career appearances and 18 starts at UNM.
Young also has good genes. He is the son of Fred Young, a former NFL player who played linebacker for seven seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and the Indianapolis Colts. Fred Young was selected to four Pro Bowls – two on the special teams and two as linebacker. He was renowned as a heavy hitter and was featured in the NFL film, “The NFL Crunch Course.”
“I am thankful and enthused to be a part of the Seven Bridges team,” said Freddy Young. “I am very blessed to have my family and loved ones who have supported me on the way and I am looking forward to what the future has in store. I am excited to continue to work and represent the agency in a positive manner.”
Right now, NFLDraftScout.com ranks Young as the 53rd free safety in his class. It may be a chore to get him drafted as a late rounder of even an undrafted free agent, but his agents believe that with Young’s pedigree and talent, the opportunity will present itself.
