Sports Lawyers Association Hosts Legal Roundtable In Tampa, Florida

The event is presented by the? Sports Lawyers Association, Holland & Knight LLP, and Hill Ward Henderson.  The session is part of the Sports Lawyers Association’s continuing effort to bring more activities and networking opportunities to its members.  The focus of the roundtable discussion will be the legal issues facing team counsel on both a daily and hourly basis.  The deadline to order tickets is December 12, 2013.  For registration information and other details, click here.

Panelists

David Cohen — General Counsel of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  David earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and Master’s Degree in Community Health Education from West Virginia University School of Medicine.  He also earned a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California.  David is licensed to practice law in California.

Nyea Sturman — Assistant Director of Legal Services with the Orlando Magic.  Nyea graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Labor Relations.  She also obtained her law degree from Marquette University along with her MBA from the University of Oregon.

John Higgins — Senior Vice President of Administration/General Counsel with the Tampa Bay Rays.  He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Notre Dame.  Additionally, John graduated from Duke University School of Law.

Jim Shimberg — Executive Vice President/General Counsel, Tampa Bay Sports and Entertainment.  Jim obtained both his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Florida.
