Per a press release from the company, Octagon, the world’s largest sponsorship consulting practice and sports and entertainment marketing leader, has formed a strategic alliance with Sportsnet Group in Istanbul, Turkey.

This launch pairs Octagon, with more than 30 years of experience, and Sportsnet Group, Turkey’s first sports-related marketing agency and expands Octagon’s reach in Europe. The two have worked together on various programs over the past decade helping client brands connect to their consumers through their passion for sports.

Both parties are excited about this partnership, with Jeff Ehrenkranz (Octagon’s Managing Director of Europe, Middle East and India) saying “We are very confident about this partnership and are looking forward to collaborating with Sportsnet Group to leverage our collective experience and expertise.” Ahmet Gülüm, President of Sportsnet Group, said “The alliance between Sportsnet Group and Octagon allows us to anticipate the needs of our clients and contribute to the growth of the industry in Turkey and the region.”

Octagon truly is a global company, as in addition to the partnership in Turkey, the agency has been named as consultant to the Basketball Federation of the Philippines to assist with their bid for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup, per a company press release.

Octagon will manage the association’s bid strategy and formal response as well as development of a marketing plan and management of a FIBA workshop in Manila for key stakeholders. Its proprietary Passion Drivers® research will be conducted in the Philippines, providing key data and insights into the motivating factors behind basketball fans and informing the overall bid and communications to FIBA in Geneva on June 18 and 19.
