2015 World’s Most Powerful Sports Agents By Forbes

 

Forbes has released its annual list of the world’s 50 most powerful sports agents and none other than super agent Scott Boras tops the list. The list contains 13 baseball agents, 10 football agents, 10 basketball  agents, 8 hockey agents,7 soccer agents, and 2 golf agents. The commissions for the agents range from $117.1M to $9.6M and the contracts negotiated range from $2.3B to $192.6M.

Per Jason Belzer of Forbes, Boras who represents MLB superstars Jacoby Ellsbury, Prince Fielder,and Matt Holliday is not only noted for negotiating one of the largest contracts in baseball history back in the 1980s, a $7.5 million deal for relief pitcher Bill Caudill, Boras has also since then negotiated the first professional baseball contract in excess of $50 million.

Soccer mega agent Jorge Mendes of Gestifute International is #2 on the list. Mendes has negotiated more than $950 million in active player deals. Among his clients are Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Paris Saint-Germain’s Ángel Di María, and Chelsea F.C.’s Diego Costa.

Coming in at #3 on the list is Tom Condon, who is head of Creative Artists Agency’s football division. Condon has negotiated an estimated $1.5 billion in current league contracts. Other  names that round out the list include Drew Rosenhaus (19), Rick Curran (24), Leon Rose (34), Eugene Parker (40), and Bill Duffy (49). For a full list of the top 50 click here.
