Top Executives, Agents And Former Players Gather To Discuss Salary Arbitration In Sports

Press Release:

September 28, 2015– New York, NY – On Thursday, November 19th a trio of veteran sports agents will host the inaugural Salary Arbitration in Sports conference at St. John’s University in Manhattan. The SAS conference will feature representatives from Major League Baseball, MLBPA, certified agents and former players, all with comprehensive experience in salary arbitration. Students, professionals and sports fans alike are invited to come join us for an in-depth look at this one-of-a-kind process.

Salary arbitration is a unique method of determining player salaries in professional sports.  In fact, only two sports leagues – Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League – utilize the salary arbitration process.  Though much has been written about it, the inner workings of this rare system remain a mystery, even for the most ardent sports fan.  At the SAS Conference, seasoned participants in the art of salary arbitration will share their insights and experiences through a full day of panel discussions and question-and-answer sessions.

Confirmed speakers include: Rick Shapiro (Senior Executive, MLBPA), Paul Mifsud (Vice President & Deputy General Counsel, Labor Relations, MLB), John Ricco (Vice President/Assistant General Manager, NY Mets), Jay Reisinger (Certified Agent), Omar Minaya (Senior Adviser, MLBPA), CJ Nitkowski (former MLB Player).

The SAS Conference is the inspiration of experienced certified sports agents Jeff Fannell of Jeff Fannell & Associates, Mike Nicotera of The Sparta Group and Rex Gary of Turner-Gary Sports. FrontOfficeSports.org, one of the Nation’s fastest growing sources for #Sportsbiz insight, will serve as the conference’s digital partner.

Full event schedule and detailed list of speakers will be available soon. Reserve your seat TODAY and receive an early bird discount using code EARLY at http://SalaryArbitration.org.
