On To The Next One: Vinny Curry

Word has gotten out that Philadelphia Eagles DE Vinny Curry, has decided to part ways with yet another agent. It was first reported by football industry insider Inside The League.

Curry, former star DE at Marshall, was selected by the Eagles in the 2nd round 59th overall of the 2012 draft. Eagles head coach, Chip Kelly, announced earlier last month that Vinny will be moving to OLB full time but it doesn’t mean that he will exclusively play at that position this fall.

This is the last year of the rookie contract for the 4th year pro and signing with another agent will have put him at his 4th agent since he was drafted in 2012. His first agent was Ashanti Webb, who he fired a week after signing with in January 2012. He later went on to sign with Universal Sports, an Atlanta-based agency and was with the firm until May 2014 in which he then signed with CAA, his most recent representation who he let go.

Will Curry ever find the right representation? We will have to wait and find out. In the meantime, it looks as if Curry is leaning toward signing with Irvine, CA-based agency, Athlete’s First. This firm has negotiated record-breaking contracts in the NFL and represents some of the most elite players in the league such as Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews, and Earl Thomas. They should be able to do great things for Vinny Curry.
