With the 2015 Baseball Winter Meetings kicking off today down in Nashville, TN, there will likely be a flood of baseball transactions and MLB-related news.

Per a Tweet by MLB Trade Rumors’ Tim Dierkes, Yankees catching prospect Gary Sanchez has signed with the newly formed Magnus Sports. He joins Reds closer Aroldis Chapman at the joint venture between entertainer Marc Anthony and Praver-Shapiro.

After making his MLB debut this past October, the Dominican native had a strong showing in the Arizona Fall League, an offseason league for top prospects, owned and operated by Major League Baseball, where he was a finalist for the league’s Most Valuable Player.

He was signed as a 17-year old international free agent in 2009 and has risen to be the 5th-ranked prospect in the Yankees season. After trading John Ryan Murphy last season, Sanchez seems to be ready for Big League action as Brian McCann’s backup. He started the 2015 season with the AA Trenton Thunder and was selected to the All-Star Futures Game. After the game, he was promoted to the AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders where he hit a home run in his first at-bat.
