Bill Hamid, a goalkeeper for DC United of MLS and the US Men’s National Team, has joined G-Form as the latest brand ambassador for soccer.
Hamid has been a mainstay in the goal for DC United since 2010, when he broke famed USMNT goalkeeper Tim Howard’s record as the youngest keeper to win a game in MLS. His career trajectory was on the way up after that, winning Goalkeeper of the Year honors for MLS in 2014 and as a finalist in 2015. He reported to the US National Team camp in January of this year despite injuring his knee while training. It was discovered that he had a torn meniscus in his knee and subsequently had surgery to repair it. He returned to the pitch in May after missing six months and the first 12 games of DC United’s season.
In his return, he turned to G-Form to best ensure his on-field performance and to prevent injuries. “Goalkeeper training is intense and involves a lot of repetition that takes a toll on your body,” said Hamid. “The G-Form shorts, shirts and shin guards couldn’t be more ideal for me. Not being sore or injured means I can perform at my best and do what I want on the field. I’m thrilled to be a part of the G-Form team and I’m proud to represent a brand I believe in.”
G-Form, the leader in athletic impact protection, has a line of products that use science to offer “protection without limits.” These protective sport products (for soccer, biking, snow sports, skateboarding, team and extreme sports) use a “Reactive Protection Technology™” to transform the energy from impact into a molecular reaction that absorbs over 90% of the collision; essentially, the harder the impact, the harder the product becomes providing more protection.
Hamid wears G-FOrm’s Pro-X shirt, Pro-X shorts and Pro-S Elite shin guards. With the products impact absorption technology, form fit design, lightweight construction and low profile, they are ideal for goalkeepers who need to be agile in the box.
