David Mulugheta’s Star-Studded 2017 NFL Draft Class Includes NCAA Champion Deshaun Watson

12 days ago, we wrote about Athletes First agent David Mulugheta signing potential 1st round safeties Malik Hooker and Budda Baker. While those two alone would be a dream draft class for 99% of agents, Mulugheta appears to be making a much bigger splash in this year’s draft with the signing of Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Not much needs to be said about Deshaun Watson here. Watson, arguably the greatest QB to ever play at Clemson, just took home the NCAA Championship and handed Nick Saban his first loss in a title game in the process. The 6’2″ quarterback does seem to have varying opinions on where he’ll be drafted (Mel Kiper projects Watson to be drafted 10th while Todd McShay left Watson out of his 1st round mock draft). With that said, I would be highly surprised to see Watson fall out of the 1st round and having a floor of the 2nd round isn’t too bad of a client to sign.

In another example of the rich getting richer, Mulugheta also signed Missouri defensive end Charles Harris and Auburn defensive tackle Montravious Adams. During his career at Missouri, Harris was one of the most productive defensive ends in the NCAA. He led the country in tackles for loss during the 2015 season and racked up 9 sacks last year. NFL Draft Scout projects Harris as a 1st round draft pick. Adams had a solid senior season at Auburn where he tallied 39 tackles,4.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble (in the Iron Bowl) and an interception. The 6’3″, 300 lb defensive tackle is projected to be drafted in the 3rd or 4th round according to NFL Draft Scout.

Deshaun Watson, Malik Hooker, Charles Harris, Budda Baker, and Montravious Adams. That is quite the starting 5 for David Mulugheta and Athletes First. While I’m confident there are a few agents who will have something to say, this may end up as the top draft class any agent has in the NFL this year.
