Rick Thurman And Rob Ponger Launch BHSC Global

Veteran agents Rick Thurman and Rob Ponger, co-CEO’s of Beverly Hills Sports Council, have announced their creation of BHSC Global, LLC. BHSC Global aims to be a conglomeration of companies that will offer offer services across the sports, entertainment, marketing and sponsorship industries.

Rob Ponger is a former SVP, Finance and Operations at IMG and President of Stealth SME. According to Rob Ponger,  “BHSC Global is a result of those who are the best in their field to drive and deliver sustainable results. This is only the beginning. Over the next 18 months we will aggressively add dynamic and diverse companies to the BHSC Global family.”

Rick Thurman founded Beverly Hills Sports Council in 1984 and has built it into one of the most successful agencies in the athlete representation business. BHSC has represented greats such as George Brett and Barry Bonds and current players including Dee Gordon and Salvador Perez.

“The past 30 years have been filled with many successes at BHSC within the arenas of athlete management and sports marketing. I am proud to announce the progressive expansion of our organization both domestically and internationally,” said Thurman. “As we move forward we will be able to provide our clients with full services across sports, media, marketing, sponsorship sales and activation. Very shortly we will announce our initial acquisitions and business units comprising our core BHSC Global portfolio.”

Danny Horowits, who has been at BHSC for 28 years, will become President of BHSC Global Management overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company’s athlete management division. Forbes ranked BHSC as the 23rd most valuable sports agency in 2016 with $548.87 million in contract value under management. BHSC seems to have no signs of slowing down as they recently negotiated a five-year, $49.5 million contract for client Rougned Odor. It will be interesting to see the acquisitions BHSC Global makes over the next several months.
