Bleachr and Lagardère Sports partner for Citi Open Tournament

Per a company press release, Bleachr and Lagardere Sports have partnered to improve the life experience at the Citi Open Tennis Tournament.

Bleachr, is a Minneapolis-based mobile platform developer with patented in-venue technology. The company’s patented geo-fenced social and transactional platform “amplifies the live experience for fans, while delivering them convenience and fueling fan loyalty onsite.” Features of the app include: connecting fans in-venue through notifications, messaging, and a variety of streams to keep fans engaged through their mobile devices.

A unique aspect of the company’s technology is the in-seat ordering feature. Fans can order concessions and merchandise right to their seat, avoiding long lines so as to not miss any of the action.

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Lagardère Sports to introduce our mobile capabilities to tennis fans in Washington, D.C.,” said Rich Kinzler, managing director at Bleachr. “Lagardère Sports is a leader in the global business of sports, making them the ideal partner to help accelerate our business and transform the live in-venue event experience for fans everywhere.”

The Citi Open is a joint WTA and ATP event in Washington, D.C. and one of only 13 ATP World Tour 500 tournaments in the world. By partnering with Lagardère Sports and gaining global exposure through not only the agency, but also the tournament, Bleachr could find itself in the global market soon.
