On To The Next One: Philadelphia Eagles RB Jay Ajayi

As free agency looms for Philadelphia Eagles RB Jay Ajayi, he decided to make a change in his representation this offseason by hiring Drew Rosenhaus as his new agent, according to Twitter. Ajayi was previously represented by Select Sports Group.

Ajayi signed a four-year, $2.5 million deal with the Miami Dolphins after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He was drafted to follow in the footsteps of Lamar Miller, who one year later left for the Houston Texans, thrusting Ajayi into the starting role. Ajayi did not disappoint in his first season shouldering much of the workload at running back. Following the conclusion of the 2016 season, Ajayi received his first invitation to the NFL Pro Bowl after rushing for career-best numbers (1,272 yards, eight touchdowns).

Midway through the 2017 season, the Dolphins traded Jay Ajayi to the Philadelphia Eagles in return for a fourth-round draft pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. However, the Eagles had just inked ex-New England Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount and had signed their top rookie from the 2017 NFL Draft, Corey Clement, limiting the reps for Ajayi.

This off-season, however, Blount decided to move on with the Detroit Lions. The departure provides the 25-year-old Ajayi an opportunity to be a crucial contributor to the 2018 Philadelphia Eagles offense. With his newfound partnership with Rosenhaus Sports, Ajayi has the opportunity to enhance his paycheck as the Philadelphia Eagles labelled as one of the favourites by betting sites to continue their momentum from last season’s Super Bowl championship. He is slated to become an unrestricted free agent following the 2018 season.
