Wasserman Has Acquired Hockey Agency, Acme World Sports

Wasserman, a sports marketing and talent management company based in Los Angeles, has announced the acquisition of hockey agency, Acme World Sports. The announcement was officially made in late June. Wasserman already being the second most valuable sports agency continues to make moves to maintain its standing.

Acme has players in both Europe and North America, including Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask. Wasserman represents NHL players such as Oilers Captain Connor McDavid and Toronto center Auston Matthews.

Acme’s leading executives will join Wasserman as part of the agreement, including founder Markus Lehto, senior VP of hockey Simo Niiranen and VP of hockey Pete Rutili, among others. Jason Ranne, Wasserman’s executive VP and COO made the statement “Hockey is a global sport and the Acme team excels at representing hockey players in both North America and Europe”.

The benefits of this acquisition is the increased presence and global access Acme brings. In addition, Wasserman will add new offices in Switzerland and Finland, both are hotbeds for talented hockey players.
