On January 18th, Republik Sports, LLC announced the acquisition of all Platinum Sport’s agents and clients. Republik Sports, LLC was founded in 2020 by Venezuelan agent, Rafa Nieves, and currently represents over 20 MLB players including Alex Colome, Jose Ramirez, Luis Castillo, Gregory Polanco, and Teoscar Hernandez.
Platinum Sports was founded by agent Nick Brockmeyer and has been in the industry for seventeen years. This acquisition is the first step Republik Sports, LLC in breaking into the U.S. baseball market. Platinum Sports represents players at the MLB level, including Peter Fairbanks, Josh Fleming, and Ashton Goudeau, and also advises top amateur draft prospects.
Rafa Nieves, CEO & Founder of Republik, is no stranger to being an the industry. He had previously worked at Beverly Hills Sports Council and Wasserman prior to founding Republik Sports, LLC. In 2021 alone, Nieves has settled six MLB salary arbitration cases on his own for the first time. Heitner Legal represented Republik Sports on this acquisition.
