The Sports and Entertainment Group Announces 2021 NFL Draft Class

In preparation of the 2021 NFL Draft on April 29th, The Sports and Entertainment Group announces their 2021 Draft Class which includes Michael Carter, Jaret Patterson, Tre Brown, Joshua Palmer, Brandin Echols, Trey Ragas, Marlon Williams and Jordan Meredith.

Tre Brown – The University of Oklahoma

  • Started all 10 games in which he played
  • Second Team All-Big 12 Selection by league’s head coaches and media
  • Totaled 31 tackles, one tackle for loss, three interceptions and six pass breakups
  • High School: Union High School
  • Hometown: Tulsa, Oklahoma

Michael Carter – University of North Carolina (RB)

  • Team Captain of the Tar Heels
  • Awarded: Eddie and Jo Alison Clary Smith Strength and Conditioning Award for Outstanding Lifter, Paul Hornug Award Finalist, PFF All-America First Team, AP All-America Third Team, All-ACC First Team, All-ACC Third Team (All-Purpose), Walter Camp National FBS Player of the Week, PFF National Team of the Week, ACC Running Back of the Week (3 times), and Doak Walker Award Watch List
  • Started all 11 games he appeared in at running back
  • Finished fourth in UNC history with 3,404 career rushing yards. In addition to leading the ACC with 113.2 rushing yards per game and 8.0 yards per rush (new program record)
  • High School: Navarre High School
  • Hometown: Navarre, Florida

Brandin Echols – University of Kentucky (DB)

  • Started in all 11 games during the season
  • Fourth on the team in tackles with 54
  • Invited to the 2021 Hula Bowl
  • High School: Southaven High School
  • Hometown: Southaven, Mississippi

Joshua Palmer – University of Tennessee (WR)

  • Career Honors: NFL Combine Invitee (2021), Senior Bowl Invitee (2021), Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll (2019), VOLeaders Academy Class (2018-2019)
  • Led the Vols in receiving yards (475), catches (33) and receiving touchdowns (4) 
  • Only the sixth Vol from Canada to earn a letter all-time
  • Grew up mostly playing basketball and football and became serious about football in the ninth grade
  • High School: St. Thomas Aquinas High School
  • Hometown: Brampton, Ontario (Canada)

Trey Ragas – University of Louisiana at Lafayette (RB)

  • Career Accolades: Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference (2020) and Third Team All-Sun Belt Conference (2017, 2018, and 2019)
  • Named a Pro Football Focus First Team All-Sun Belt performer after playing in 11 games
  • Ended 2020 with 3,572 career rushing yards, the third most in program history, and 38 rushing touchdowns, the sixth most in program history
  • High School: Archbishop Shaw High School
  • Hometown: New Orleans, Louisiana

Jaret Patterson – University of Buffalo (RB)

  • In only six games, rushed for 1,072 yards and 19 touchdowns… led the nation in rushing average (178.7 ypg)
  •  Winner of the Vern Smith Leadership Award, given to the top player in the Mid-American Conference, named the MAC Offensive Player of the Year and named All-MAC First Team
  • High School: St. Vincent Pallotti High School
  • Hometown: Glendale, Maryland

Marlon Williams – University of Central Florida (WR)

  • Played in 8 of 10 games, starting eight times at receiver
  •  His 157 career receptions rank tied for ninth most in UCF history…With 2,260 receiving yards in his career, which ranks 10th all-time in program history….Finished career with 19 touchdown receptions, the ninth most for a Knight.
  • Earned Pro Football Focus Third-Team All-American Honors, First Team All-Conference Accolades from the American, and was a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award
  • High School: McGill Toolen High School
  • Hometown: Mobile, Alabama

Jordan Meredith – Western Kentucky University (OL)

  • Career Awards: All-Conference USA Second Team (2020), PFF College Second Team All-American (2020), PFF College All-CUSA Second Team (2020), Phil Steele All-CUSA Second Team (2020), Preseason All-Conference USA Team (2020), Phil Steele Preseason All-CUSA First Team (2020), Athlon Sports Preseason All-CUSA First Team (2020), PFF College Honorable Mention All-American (2019), PFF College All-CUSA First Team (2019), Conference USA Honorable Mention (2019)
  • Started every game for the Hilltoppers for the third straight season and played 764 snaps at the right guard position.
