Priority Sports Signs Joe Wieskamp

Priority Sports has announced the signing of junior Joe Wieskamp from the University of Iowa for their 2021 NBA Draft Class. Wieskamp announced on Friday that he was officially keeping his name in the 2021 NBA Draft.

The 6’6″, 205-pound swingman is from Muscatine, Iowa where he attended Muscatine High School. During his high school career, he became the state of Iowa’s all-time high school leading scorer. He was a two-time Iowa Gatorade Player of the Year and first-team all-state honoree. He was the first Gatorade Player of the Year honoree from his high school. He ranked 42nd and 71st by Rivals and ESPN. He was a National Honor Society Member and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

During his college career at the University of Iowa, he was awarded Big Ten All-Freshman Team, USBWA All-District VI Team (2 years in a row), All-Big Ten 3rd Team, NABC NCAA D1 All-District 7 2nd Team, Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award Finalist, Big Ten Tournament Semifinals, and All-Big Ten 2nd Team. He started all 97 games of his collegiate career. He was the first Hawkeye junior in school history with over 1,250 points, over 550 rebounds, over 175 3 pointers, over 100 assists, and over 75 steals. He ranked ninth in Iowa career 3-pointers made (181) and 24th in scoring (1,283). He is one of 15 players in program history with over 1,250 points and 550 rebounds. Within his collegiate career, he scored in double figures 72 times, including 20 points or more 14 times, and registered four double-doubles. His 46.2 percent 3-point shooting this past season is second best and 73 triples are fifth-most by a junior in program history.

Wieskamp has been preparing for the upcoming 2021 NBA Draft and has had a strong NBA Draft Combine performance. At the NBA Draft Combine, Wieskamp stood at 6’7 in shoes and weight about 204.3 pounds with 4.1 percent body fat. He jumped 42 inches in the vertical and had a lane agility time of 10.7 seconds.
