It is fair to say that DeAndre Jordan had an eventful summer. Having verbally committed to join the Dallas Mavericks, he did a u-turn and ultimately ended up staying with the Clippers, signing a 4 year max deal when the free agency period opened.
On that infamous night in Houston, only Clippers’ personnel were allowed in Jordan’s house. This left DeAndre’s representatives from Relativity, Dan Fegan and Jarinn Akana, frozen out. Akana was only allowed in the house to oversee the signing when the free agency period started. They had been blindsided by the move, and assumed like many that he was going to sign with the Mavericks.
After these events, it was obvious the agent-client relationship was damaged. This has led to DeAndre Jordan leaving Relativity. He has cited the desire to ‘move in another direction‘ as his reasoning. Relativilty will still receive commissions on his recently signed deal.
DeAndre’s latest agency split marks the third time he has left an agent. When drafted, he was represented by Joel Bell of BMI. He then moved to Wasserman Media Group, before landing at Relativity. It is unknown whereabouts he will land next.
