Introducing Erin Kane

The day has finally come. I Want to be a Sports Agent is proud to introduce our 9th writer to The SportsAgentBlog.com All-Stars, and our first female author! Please welcome Erin Kane to the team. Erin will bring an interesting first-hand view into the sports agent industry. She is a currently employee at Gaylord Sports Management and graduated from Ohio State University in 1999.

Among many other things, Erin will regularly address the representation of women athletes and representation by women agents. If you do not think that women are making strides in this industry already and that their presence will only continue to grow, then you better open up your eyes. I, for one, am a strong proponent for including more women in our business.

Someone finally answered my call, “Where are all the ladies at?“, and I am very thankful for the opportunity to host a female agent on the blog.

Last, I would like to thank all those who have subscribed to the blog. I am sure that you now notice why I implored you to do so. In addition, I ask that you join our Facebook Group if you are a fan of the site. Why? I am not quite sure. But it makes us look cool!

Originally titled, "I Want To Be A Sports Agent," the website was founded with the intention of causing Heitner to learn more about the profession that he wanted to join, meet reputable individuals in the space and force himself to stay on top of the latest news and trends.

Heitner now runs Heitner Legal, P.L.L.C., which is a law firm with many practice areas, including sports law and contract law. Heitner has represented numerous athletes and sports agents as legal counsel. Heitner serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he teaches a Sports Law class that includes case law surrounding athlete agents and the NCAA rules.
