Dad’s Corner: The Year Of Boston

I finally was right. I said Boston Red Sox from the get go. As far as college football is concerned, the days of the college dynasty are over. Miami in the 80’s through the 90’s almost always was in the top ten. Consecutive championship games are a thing of the past. Miami once had six players picked in the 1st round. Will that ever happen again? Today there are so many great high school athletes coming out every year and colleges are competing for them more vigorously then ever before. Many high profile athletes are going where they can start immediately.

UF does not have a reason to hang their heads in shame over the Georgia loss. They lost most of their defense to graduation or the NFL. Yes they have a major problem with their cornerbacks in particular. I noticed that in the first game against a nobody Quarterback who got a concussion after the first drive. He was picking apart the defensive backs.

Ohio State has a very easy schedule this year and might repeat to the National Title game. At this juncture I say go BC. After all, this is the year of Boston in the major sport fields. Boston & Pats had many bad years in the past. When I think of BC, I think of Flutie’s hail mary pass with no time left to beat my favorite team for many years. Until my son went to UF I hated the Gators…especially in the Spurrier years.

Till next time be safe out there.
