Leatherman Earns Some Local Press

Stan Goldberg of The Frederick News-Post, has some nice things to say about Dan Leatherman after his impressive pitching performance in last night’s game:

RELIEF PITCHER Dan Leatherman of Walkersville and catcher Brian Valichka of Urbana continue to do well in Class A baseball. Leatherman is 1-1 with a 2.18 ERA and three saves with the Washington Nationals Class A Hagerstown Suns team. Valichka is batting .312 with a home run, triple and five doubles in 26 games with the Orioles Class A Delmarva team. Both were signed as free agents this season after being released in spring training. Leatherman was with Minnesota and Valichka was with Texas.

Leatherman actually picked up his fourth save after pitching three innings of no-hit no-earned-run ball.  He struck out two batters and walked one en route to earning the save.
