Players Wanted For New ABA Team

The San Diego Surf, an ABA SoCal Division team in its inaugural season, is hosting open tryouts in San Diego, Sunday September 20th. Compensation for players will be minimal the first season, but the team claims that they will assist players in gaining regular employment if signed to a contract.

The Southern California Division of the ABA is comprised of Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, Compton, Riverside and Honolulu. League play will commence on December 5th, 2009, playing 30 games through early March, with National Playoffs at stake.

Heitner serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he teaches a Sports Law class that includes case law surrounding athlete agents and the NCAA rules.
