According to CBS Baseball Insider, Jon Heyman, Texas Rangers shortstop Jurickson Profar has hired veteran sports agent Scott Boras to represent him.  Pro Star Management previously represented the 21-year-old Profar.

Profar struggled during the 2013 season, batting only .234/.308/.336 in 324 plate appearances.  Right shoulder issues and a recent Grade ‘A’ arm strain have him sidelined until at least mid-summer.

As of last summer, Boras’ agency — Boras Corporation — ranked as the world’s second most valuable sports agency only behind Creative Artists Agency, according to Forbes.  At that time, Boras had negotiated $1.6 billion in contracts, which means commissions totaled over $80 million.

Some of Boras’ more well-known clients include Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg, Texas Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder, and Washington Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth.
