IMG has signed world No.1 amateur golfer Minjee Lee for representation. The 18 year-old Australian has turned professional, and will tee off her career at the Evian Championship.

Lee is no stranger to major tournaments, having finished in the Top 25 in the Kraft Nabisco Championship and the US Women’s Open this year. She recently helped Australia to victory in the 2014 Women’s World Amateur Team Championships.

Lee had this to say on her recent signing:

“As my professional career begins, I am very happy to have the support of my team at IMG. It is a thrill for me to begin this stage of my career at the Evian and I look forward to the journey ahead with the guidance of IMG.”

Minjee currently only lists Golf Australia and Srixon as partners, but there will no doubt a host of sponsors lining up to partner with her now she has turned pro.

IMG Golf is having a great run of form lately, with tour favourite Cristie Kerr recently re-signing with the company. Lydia Ko, another highly touted young golfer, is also managed by IMG.
