When you Google “Brock Hekking,” the first results are pictures of the former Nevada DE sporting a hairstyle that was popular before his time – a platinum blonde mullet.

This unlikely haircut goes hand-in-hand with the unlikely place that Hekking signed his Standard Representation Contract with Octagon Sports – In-N-Out Burger, in his hometown Vacaville, CA.

Usually, Standard Representation AgreementsĀ (SRA) are signed in the home of the player or in the agency’s offices, but Hekking wanted to make sure he put his own flair on the event. Why In-N-Out? “I went every day after high school. It’s where I dreamed of becoming a ball player…so I thought it would be best to [sign my contract] there.”

The three-time All-Mountain West DE just might have those dreams fulfilled in the 2015 NFL Draft, where he is rated as the #22 DE overall. He finished his Nevada career playing in 51 games, amassing 180 total tackles, 21.5 sacks, and 31.5 TFL. He hopes to see his stock rise as he prepares for and plays in the Medal of Honor Bowl on January 10th in Charleston, SC.

Brock Hekking’sĀ order was “two double-doubles, fries, and a drink.” He forgot to include taking the first step towards his professional dreams, and signing his SRA.
