Per Liz Mullen of SBJ, former WME-IMG agent Sandy Montag has signed his first two clients at his new venture, The Montag Group. Montag, who has represented top coaches, broadcasters and other media personalities, has signed Fox Sports NFL analyst David Diehl and ESPN play-by-play announcer Dave Pasch and will represent them himself.
Diehl is a former New York Giants offensive lineman and current Sirius XM and Fox NFL analyst. He currently works on regional games, but Montag hopes for him to transition into a national role. Pasch is a play-by-play announcer for ESPN, and calls both NBA and college football games.
When Montag left WME-IMG, his 50 broadcasting and coaching clients went with him. In addition to his new clients, The Montag Group has also hired five new employees in the areas of client management, talent representation, business development and talent marketing, and an executive assistant. Three of the five new hires (Jill Driban, Sue Lipton and Kate Ruben) left WME-IMG to join Montag, while Michael Schenker (business development and talent marketing) came from RSE Ventures. Kristen Taylor (business development) was most recently with Nike.
As The Montag Group continues to establish itself as its own entity, the experience at the helm sets the agency up for immediate success.
