Per a press release by Berk Communications, Roc Nation and Major League Soccer’s Houston Dynamo have entered into a groundbreaking deal naming Roc Nation as the exclusive agency of record. This ongoing partnership will see Roc Nation drive further branding deals on behalf of the Dynamo, as well as broker live entertainment opportunities for the Dynamo’s home, BBVA Compass Stadium.
With its expertise across both the sports and entertainment landscapes, Roc Nation will provide the Dynamo with not just premier consulting services, but to also bring landmark shows and entertainment opportunities for BBVA Compass Stadium.
“This unique partnership with the Dynamo is a textbook example of the all-encompassing capabilities of our agency,” said Michael Yormark, Roc Nation President and Chief of Branding & Strategy. “We greatly admire the Dynamo organization and the rapid success they’ve had in a leading sports market such as Houston. We look forward to a long-standing relationship with the team and its properties.”
With two MLS Cup championships and four conference titles in 11 years, the Houston Dynamo have been one of the most successful clubs in Major League Soccer since they began play in 2006. The Dynamo opened BBVA Compass Stadium, a 22,000-seat showpiece for soccer and live entertainment, in 2012. The stadium, which was the first soccer-specific stadium to open in the downtown area of a major city, has led to the revitalization of Houston’s EaDo neighborhood over the last five years.
“We are honored to be partnering with Roc Nation on a number of our important business ventures going forward,” said Dynamo President Chris Canetti. “They bring incredible energy, extensive resources, and a powerful network to our organization. We are confident that they will play a key role in helping us achieve numerous business objectives.”
The Dynamo recognize the value of partnering with an agency that carries global recognition and a successful track record in both sports and entertainment. The club will entrust Roc Nation to successfully secure premier partnerships and oversee future sponsorship and property endeavors. Additionally, the Dynamo look forward to Roc Nation’ assistance with the continued growth of Houston’s status as not only the Energy Capital of the World but an entertainment capital as well.
“We are very proud to be partnering with Jay Brown, Michael Yormark and the entire Roc Nation organization to identify brands interested in the Dynamo’s large multicultural and millennial audience,” said Dynamo Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Steven Powell. “We also look forward to working with them to drive programming to BBVA Compass Stadium with some of Roc Nation’s musical acts and other sporting events and artists.”
