Baseball Agents Jeff Frye And Mike McCann Team Up To Create Frye McCann Sports

According to Ben Nicholson-Smith of MLBTradeRumors.com, veteran baseball agents Jeff Frye and Mike McCann are now working together in the representation of professional athletes.

Frye is a former Major League player who used to work alongside Jay Franklin (brother of Ryan Franklin) at Franklin-Frye Sports, which was set aside when the two created a company called BBI Sports Group.  In 2011, BBI Sports fired Frye.

McCann worked with Franklin and Frye from 2003 to 2010, but became a Partner-Agent at Turner-Gary Sports when Franklin and Frye shifted their efforts to build BBI Sports.  In late 2011, McCann established his own sports management company.

The duo of Frye and McCann represent many professional baseball players, including Mark LoweDarren OliverShawn Kelley, and Michael Saunders.

Heitner has represented numerous athletes and sports agents as legal counsel. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University Bloomington from 2011-2014, where he created and taught a course titled, Sport Agency Management, which included subjects ranging from NCAA regulations to athlete agent certification and the rules governing the profession. Heitner serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he teaches a Sports Law class that includes case law surrounding athlete agents and the NCAA rules.
