First Round Highlights

  • CAA Sports had five clients taken in the first round on Thursday, the most of any agency. The agency’s early success included a string of three clients taken midway through the round at No. 15-17.
  • Mississippi-based BC Sports, led by veteran sports agent, Bus Cook, landed the first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft — two total for the round.
  • Agencies with multiple selections besides CAA Sports and BC Sports included Relativity Sports (3), Lagardere Unlimited (3), Athletes First (2), SportsTrust Advisors (2) and Five Star Athlete Management (2).
  • Octagon and newcomer into the sports agency world, Roc Nation, were no-shows in the first round.

I wonder what happened to Stealth SME? I remember Chris Aden saying he closed some first round picks.. Nothing against him but It sounded good at the time.
