According to a Tweet from Jerry Crasnick, The ACES Group has added two new MLB clients to its roster: Diamondbacks OF David Peralta and Royals IF Christian Colon.
The Venezuelan born Peralta is hitting .258 this season with 5 HR and 24 RBI. Originally signed with the St. Louis Cardinals as a pitcher in 2006, but poor health and shoulder surgeries found him out of affiliated ball completely. He appeared in independent baseball as an outfielder four seasons later making $700 a month as of June 2013. Less than a year later he made his Major League Debut for the Diamondbacks. He was named the 2014 Diamondbacks Rookie of the Year after hitting .286 with 8 HR and 38 RBI in 88 games.
Colon was drafted in the 10th round of the 2007 MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres out of Canyon High School in Anaheim California. He decided to accept a baseball scholarship at Cal State Fullerton, where he was an All-American shortshop. He was drafted fourth overall in the 2010 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals and made his MLB debut on July 1, 2014. He is currently hitting .286 with 4 RBI and an OPS of .681.
