Per a release by Berk Communications, earlier today, Roc Nation Sports announced the signing of 2016 NBA draft prospect and former Marquette University forward Henry Ellenson.
A highly-touted high school recruit, Ellenson made an immediate impact in the collegiate ranks, earning first team All-Big East First Team honors, Big East Freshman of the Year, and finishing the 2015-16 season as Marquette’s all-time freshman scoring and rebounding leader. Ellenson continued to fill up the stat sheet throughout his freshman year at Marquette, averaging 17.0 PPG and 9.7 RPG. At season’s conclusion, Ellenson was a finalist for the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award and the Wayman Tisdale National Freshman of the Year Award. Additional accolades during Ellenson’s 2015-16 included USBWA Freshman All-American Team, USBWA All-District V Team, Sporting News All-Freshman All-American, NABC Second Team All-District V, third most in league history for Big East Freshman of the Week titles and Legends Classic MVP.
Ellenson was raised in Rice Lake, Wisconsin and is the eighth basketball player to sign with Roc Nation Sports, joining the likes of Kevin Durant, Skylar Diggins, Justise Winslow, Willie Cauley-Stein, Wilson Chandler, James Young and Caris LeVert.
