Portland Trail Blazers restricted free agent Allen Crabbe has left Excel Sports to be managed by CAA Sports, where he will be represented by Aaron Mintz.
The 6-foot-6 shooting guard signed a four-year, $75 million offer sheet with the Brooklyn Nets this week and is waiting to see if the Trail Blazers will match. The contract could reach up to $83 million in bonuses with a player option for the fourth season according to ESPN.
The 24-year-old Los Angeles native had a breakout season this year in his third NBA season. He emerged as a quality scoring threat off the bench, averaging 10.3 PPG, 1.2 APG, and 2.7 RPG which were all above his career averages. He averaged 26 minutes per game, shooting 45.9 percent from the floor and 39.4 percent from 3-point range.
He was a second round pick, 31st overall, of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2013 NBA Draft but never saw much playing time during his first two years in the league, playing in only 15 games as a rookie and averaging 13.4 minutes in his second season. He saw an increase in minutes last season and took full advantage of the opportunity, which has lead to this contract opportunity.
