Per a company press release, Jeff Moorad has joined Morgan Lewis as a partner and Chairman of the firm’s global sports industry initiative. In his new role, he will oversee and co-lead with firm partner Jack Concannon.
Founded in 1873, Morgan Lewis assists sports clients on a variety of matters, including stadium and team finance, mergers and acquisitions, media rights, intellectual property, labor and employment, tax, litigation, retail and merchandising, antitrust regulations, and other sports business issues.
Moorad is no stranger to sports business. He is a past owner and CEO of the San Diego Padres, a previous CEO of the Arizona Diamondbacks and founder of sports agency Steinberg & Moorad. He is currently the Chairman and CEO of Moorad Sports Partners. He joins Concannon who is also well versed in the sports industry.
