Quartexx Group and Thread Sports Management (TSM) have partnered together to create Quartexx Basketball.
For Quartexx Group, this partnership provides a rare opportunity to offer their unique personalized and boutique approach to athlete representation with a different sport. “When we created Quartexx Hockey, we knew that we could eventually services a large clientele regardless of the sport. Our team has been waiting for the right opportunity and above all the right partner: one that shares our core values”, said Lino Saputo Jr., majority owner of Quartexx Group.
The Quartexx Group is most notably known for their hockey division which represents high profile NHL players such as Taylor Hall, Patrice Bergeron, Kris Letang, Mitch Marner, and many more. Currently, according to Forbes, they have a total of $477 million in contract value under management for their hockey players.
To ensure success in entering the basketball space, Quartexx Group is partnering with one of the NBA’s most respected player agents, Bernie Lee, majority owner of TSM. Based in Toronto, Bernie Lee brings a strong group of current NBA clients to Quartexx Basketball including Jimmy Butler and Justin Holiday. Lee joins a group that will allow him to continue building a world-class company. “This partnership solidifies the knowledge and belief that we have the ability and resources to create an industry standard. We expect Quartexx Basketball to operate on a global level, while remaining entirely grounded and rooted in the values of family, service, and gratitude,” said Lee. Lino Saputo Jr. had nothing but high praise for Lee and is background when talking about this partnership. Saputo Jr. said, “It is important to note that the decision to expand into basketball only occurred once I got to know Bernie Lee. Bernie takes a holistic and family-oriented approach to athlete management…. which is everything I want the Quartexx brand to represent.”
Lee believes this new partnership will create a massive amount of opportunity for his NBA clients. “The ability to give my clients access to Lino, his family-office, their brainpower, and general business guidance will allow me to provide a full-service model to all my clients. Quartexx Basketball will provide a service offering that expands beyond a client’s on court and playing career. We will be much stronger together than we were apart.”
In Canada, Quartexx Basketball will have offices in Toronto (Ontario) and Montreal (Quebec). In the USA, clients can expect to be able to meet with Lino Saputo Jr. in Miami, Florida where he will be spending a large portion of his time.
