According to Sports Business Journal’s Liz Mullen, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith has changed representation prior to his fourth NFL season. The former Missouri Tiger recently left CAA Sports and has signed with Relativity Sports.
Smith will be co-represented by NFLPA Certified Contract Advisors, Doug Hendrickson and CJ Laboy. Over the last two seasons, Smith has racked up 100 tackles, 28 sacks and three forced fumbles.
In the 2014 NFL Draft, Relativity Sports tied for third among agencies with nine total clients selected in the seven rounds. The California-based agency’s football roster is highlighted by a number of standout wide receivers including Dez Bryant (Dallas Cowboys), Michael Crabtree (San Francisco 49ers) and Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals). Additionally, wide receiver clients Kelvin Benjamin (Carolina Panthers), Sammi Watkins (Buffalo Bills), Bruce Ellington (San Francisco 49ers), Allen Robinson (Jacksonville Jaguars) and Robert Herron (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) were all taken in May’s Draft.
Along with a football division, the agency represents players in the MLB and NBA along with coaches and managers. Some of the more notable managers include Terry Francona (Cleveland Indians), John Ferrell (Boston Red Sox) and Bud Black (San Diego Padres).
