Finally, after having my move from one house to another delayed twice in two weeks, I am well on my way to establishing a new residence in Gainesville. I have one year left of law school, and we will see where I end up a year from now, once classes and the Bar Exam are behind me. On that note, congratulations to everyone who just finished taking their state Bar Exams. I hear that the studying process is quite painful…something I am definitely not looking forward to. It was nice to see Dynasty’s Coaches Director, Jason Belzer, earlier in the week. I took him out for a good time and he left wondering why he did not choose UF over Rutgers. I will be back down south for a couple of weeks before the Fall semester begins. Here are some stories I missed over the past week:
Baseball
- Nothing like watching your client throw a perfect game [Buehrle’s Perfect Circle].
- Scott Boras comes in at #3 [July 25: The 5 Winners in the Holliday Trade].
- The age old question (with the correct answer only given on a case-by-case basis)…it’s why advisors are paid a commission [Should my child choose college or go pro?].
Sports Agents
- There may be life after being an agent [Turning one job into another].
Football
- Vick’s contract could look a lot like the one Drew Brees signed with the Saints [Possible Contract Structure for Mike Vick].
- Joel Segal is not only Percy Harvin’s agent, but also a friend [Harvin, agent form bond].
- An NFL head coach can sometimes be the best agent for a player [The head coach as agent].
MMA
- UFC continues to grow, while competitors fail one-by-one [Leaving Your Core Business To Get Into Event Production Can Be A Costly Affliction…].
