After a gruesome few days of sifting through resumes, cover letters, and references, Matthew and I finally got to calling the final five candidates to conduct phone interviews on Wednesday. After the whole process, I do not know how larger agencies are able to handle the application process (okay, actually I do…it’s all about who you know in the company). For Dynasty, no one was given an advantage before any resumes were seen. This made the process of selecting two interns even more difficult.
On Monday, we narrowed down the eligible applicants from just over 50 to 5. On Wednesday, we talked at length to each of the extremely qualified potential interns and had a tough decision to make. We wish that Dynasty could take all 5 candidates and some people that did not even get a chance at a phone interview. Without any more stalling, we would like to announce Dynasty’s First Internship Class.
Congratulations to: Sergio Millas and Austin Walton.
Here are short biographies for each intern:
Sergio Millas is an undergraduate student at the University of Southern California. He is enrolled in the Marshall School of Business with an emphasis in Marketing. He is the active President of the USC Sports Business Association. He has tons of marketing experience and has done some work with the NBA Summer Pro League.
Austin Walton graduated from the University of South Florida in only three years. He is on track to gain a Master of Science in Sports Administration in a year and is also studying to receive a J.D. in Sports Law/Media Law at Valparaiso University. Austin worked as a paralegal for forty-seven months and has coached various basketball teams, including an AAU team in the Boo Williams Summer League.
Congratulations to Sergio and Austin. They will undoubtedly be an instrumental part of Dynasty’s growth!

So it seems like you basically only picked guys that lived close to where you two guys are. You should have made that clear before the application process.
Valpo is close to us? And we said that location may play a factor.
Well done! I had Austin in class, and I think you made a great choice! He will become a great addition to your team. Congratulations to both interns.
