Athletes First agent Brian Murphy represents players whom make up 20% of the cap value on the Minnesota Vikings’ current roster. That is an extremely impressive feat for an NFLPA certified Contract Advisor. Murphy’s latest deal with the Vikings is largely responsible for a lot of the Vikings’ cap commitment. He negotiated the contract extension for […]

Darren Heitner created Sports Agent Blog as a New Year's Resolution on December 31, 2005. Originally titled, "I Want To Be A Sports Agent," the website was founded with the intention of causing Heitner to learn more about the profession that he wanted to join, meet reputable individuals in the space and force himself to stay on top of the latest news and trends.
Heitner now runs Heitner Legal, P.L.L.C., which is a law firm with many practice areas, including sports law and contract law. Heitner has represented numerous athletes and sports agents as legal counsel. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University Bloomington from 2011-2014, where he created and taught a course titled, Sport Agency Management, which included subjects ranging from NCAA regulations to athlete agent certification and the rules governing the profession. Heitner serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he teaches a Sports Law class that includes case law surrounding athlete agents and the NCAA rules.
Welcome to the first Shabbat Shalom: Friday Wrap-up since the site’s rebuild. I truly hope that you prefer the new layout of Sports Agent Blog over prior versions. The new look was launched on Memorial Day and is intended to provide a cleaner infrastructure, ease of reading on tablets and mobile devices, and some funky tools […]
My friend Michael Schottey just published a mock draft for the 2016 NBA Draft scheduled to take place on June 23. Mock drafts never provide a completely accurate position on where players are picked, especially because teams are prone to trade slots and selections prior to and during the draft. Additionally, it is impossible to […]

Now, I am stuffing my face with pizza and pasta before I return on Sunday. It seems like a lot is going on back […]
Phil Mickelson is making a lot of headlines right now. Apparently the pro golfer made a lot of money off of an insider tip and used the money received to pay off some betting debts. Let’s see how the PGA Tour reacts to that news. The NFL Pro Bowl is purportedly moving from Hawaii to […]
Must win Game 6 for the Miami Heat tonight. I can’t stomach the idea of losing to a team that boasts a slogan “We The North”. A lot of colleagues are out in Los Angeles this weekend enjoying the Sports Lawyers Association annual conference. May you all enjoy days of soaking up knowledge and connecting […]
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommas out there who enjoy staying on top of the latest happenings in the world of sports business. It has been a fun filled week of Miami Heat games. Although I’m not sure my sleeping patterns would enjoy another Overtime game in this series. There’s going to be a […]
One round of the NFL Draft is done, and boy was it dominated by Laremy Tunsil. First, a tweet of him smoking out of a bong, followed by Instagram content demonstrating a request of payment from someone connected to Ole Miss. I wonder how the next 6 rounds are supposed to top that. I was […]
Happy Pesach to those observing the Jewish holiday of Passover. Hope you make it through roughly a week of no bread! Staying local this weekend, but heading to San Francisco on Tuesday to participate in the GiGse annual event. May find my way to a Golden State Warriors home game on Wednesday. This week on […]

We are quickly coming up to the 2016 NFL Draft and just learned about a blockbuster trade between the Tennessee Titans and St. Louis Rams, swapping the […]
