It has been a little while since my last radio appearance. Email me if you would like me on your show! That being said, yesterday I had a great time on the air in my sixth appearance on Adam Taxin’s radio show. Author: Darren Heitner
Darren Heitner created Sports Agent Blog as a New Year's Resolution on December 31, 2005. Originally titled, "I Want To Be A Sports Agent," the website was founded with the intention of causing Heitner to learn more about the profession that he wanted to join, meet reputable individuals in the space and force himself to stay on top of the latest news and trends.
Heitner now runs Heitner Legal, P.L.L.C., which is a law firm with many practice areas, including sports law and contract law. Heitner has represented numerous athletes and sports agents as legal counsel. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University Bloomington from 2011-2014, where he created and taught a course titled, Sport Agency Management, which included subjects ranging from NCAA regulations to athlete agent certification and the rules governing the profession. Heitner serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he teaches a Sports Law class that includes case law surrounding athlete agents and the NCAA rules.

Boras Corp signs one of the hottest young players in the MLB, who just helped his team win a World Series Championship. At the end of last week, Jacoby Ellsbury dropped agent Joe […]
If your baseball client wins the MVP, Cy Young, or Rookie of the Year award, he better be content with getting a piece of hardware to hang up on the wall, because MLB will no longer allow a team to compensate him with cold cash. The Baseball Writers’ Association of America recently passed a new […]
Baltimore, Md. – Dec. 9, 2007, Mike DeVaney came back from what looked like an insurmountable deficit after only two frames to win the four-bowler shootout, which kicked off the final round of the Lumber Liquidators Championship at AMF Country Club Lanes. DeVaney went on to beat 4th seed, Rhino Page, easily and 3rd seed, […]

Two finals down, two to go. Criminal Law and Torts will be out of my mind for a while. Now it is onto studying for Professional Responsibility and Constitutional Law. Oh, and it is Hanukkah! So spin those dredles and burn down the candles. Here comes some stories that I failed to cover during the […]
A couple of very good articles have recently been published by excellent journalists. Jason Whitlock and LZ Granderson both, in their own ways, address an escalating problem in popular culture: the furtherance of a “hood” culture through displays of immaturity. It is not only rappers that contribute to the problem. Athletes often use their money […]
