I was shocked to see a guest blogging appearance over at Sports Business Radio Blog today. It is usually Brian Berger talking about issues from a Public Relations point of view. Anyway, he had NBPA agent Bill Kent (Sports Management Worldwide Director of Basketball) on the site, giving a little information to the common sports […]

Darren Heitner created Sports Agent Blog as a New Year's Resolution on December 31, 2005. Originally titled, "I Want To Be A Sports Agent," the website was founded with the intention of causing Heitner to learn more about the profession that he wanted to join, meet reputable individuals in the space and force himself to stay on top of the latest news and trends.
Heitner now runs Heitner Legal, P.L.L.C., which is a law firm with many practice areas, including sports law and contract law. Heitner has represented numerous athletes and sports agents as legal counsel. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University Bloomington from 2011-2014, where he created and taught a course titled, Sport Agency Management, which included subjects ranging from NCAA regulations to athlete agent certification and the rules governing the profession. Heitner serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he teaches a Sports Law class that includes case law surrounding athlete agents and the NCAA rules.
For a sports agent blog, we sure do cover Matt Leinart quite a bit. Let’s do a quick recap… April 26, 2007: I reported that Leinart cut his marketing ties with Creative Artists Agency after only one year of representation [Cross CAA Off Of Leinart’s List Of Friends]. May 4, 2007: News comes out that […]

Dynasty Notes will take you through the days when Darren and I (Matthew Vuckovich) did not even know each other, to Dynasty becoming an LLC, to signing our first client, and beyond. If you have not yet read Dynasty Notes – Part 2, go ahead and read it. Enjoy Dynasty Notes – Part 3. With […]
When I created this blog on December 31, 2005, it looked like crap, had no readers, and had little content. Not much has changed! One of the original purposes of creating this site was to open up the sports agent industry for all to better understand. I felt that part of accomplishing such a feat […]
What happens when you collect a bunch of money from phony tax returns, you get convicted, and then you reach bail on a bad check? You go to jail, and you do not collect $200. In fact, you may have to pay an additional $2.7 million to make up for the false money that you […]
MMA Is Becoming Part Of The Mix
If there are sports agents representing bowlers (cough, Dynasty, cough), then you better believe that there are agents representing ultimate fighters. The competition among UFC agents is definitely less than that of NFL agents, but as the sport continues to grow, the field will get larger and the barrier to entry will increase. Basically, now […]
Dynasty Athlete Representation‘s first client, Kyle Monroe-Dison, has just published his 3rd post over at his official blog on Yardbarker. It is titled, Operation: Workout. He discusses his recent oral surgery, his current pitching status, a couple of workouts, and the state of the MLB. If you want to see his other 2 entries, you […]
In honor of The Simpsons Movie coming out this Friday, I decided to do some research and see what athletes deserve to have guest appearances on the most successful cartoon of all time. This is what I came up with: O.J. Simpson – Ex-Running Back for the Buffalo Bills and San Fransisco 49ers. Homer Bailey […]
Charging at least $75 per autograph is not exactly the best publicity move when you are a rook who has not even signed with the team who picked you in the first round. Someone might want to give that hint of advice to Brady Quinn, who refused to sign any memorabilia that was paid for […]
