Attorney and agent Kristin Campbell has announced the severing of ties with Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman. Campbell, the founder of 40 Sports & Entertainment Group, negotiated the five-year extension Freeman signed with the Falcons in 2017. The $41.25 million extension made him the highest-paid running back in the NFL at the time.
There has not been any clear reports on the reasoning of the separation, but speculation is that the decision surrounds different wants in the direction of Freeman’s free agency. Freeman, 28, is one of the notable names in the free agent market and had talks with the Seahawks come to an abrupt end, which lead to the Seahawks signing Carlos Hyde. Despite the deal falling through, there were still reports of interest from teams, prompting Freeman to Tweet that teams interested can reach out to him directly.
