CAA Basketball Signs Keon Johnson

CAA Sports Basketball division has officially announced the signing of freshman Keon Johnson from University of Tennessee who will be joining their 2021 NBA Draft Class.

The 6’5″, 186-pound guard is from Shelbyville, TN where he attended The Webb Schools in Bell Buckle, Tennessee.

Prior to attending University of Tennessee, Johnson was ranked a five-star recruit coming out of high school and was ranked No. 1 overall in the state of Tennessee and No 26. by ESPN. As a junior in 2018-19, he led The Webb Schools to the TSSAA Div II-A state semifinals and a 29-7 record while averaging 24.6 PPG, 8.6 RPG, and 3.2 APG. He was later named MVP of the USA Basketball’s annual summer minicamp in Colorado Springs, Colorado in July 2019, where he competed amongst many of the best high school basketball players in the country.

In Johnson’s first season at University of Tennessee he averaged 11.3 PPG, 3.5 RPG, and 2.5 APG. Johnson also shot 44.9% from the field averaging 11.3 PPG making him the second leading scorer for the volunteers. In his first season with the Volunteers Johnson recorded 15 double digit scoring games.
