Young Sports Agents Launch “Dynasty Athlete Representation” and sign first client Kyle Monroe-Dison

Newport Beach, Ca – June 18, 2007, sports agents Darren Heitner 22, of Hollywood, FL and Matthew Vuckovich 23, of Newport Beach, CA, launched Dynasty Athlete Representation, LLC.

Heitner and Vuckovich have officially become the youngest sports agents in history to represent a professional athlete with the signing of Kyle Monroe-Dison, a right-handed pitcher from Abilene, TX. Monroe-Dison officially signed with Dynasty on May 31, 2007.

Heitner, a recent graduate from the University of Florida in May 2007, earned his degree in political science and in addition he served as valedictorian of his class and embarks on the challenge of Law School at the University of Florida, Levin School of Law this fall.

Vuckovich, a recent graduate from the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign in May 2007, earned his degree in Sport Management and will also begin law school in southern California this fall.

Dynasty Athlete Representation, LLC will have its headquarters in Hollywood, Florida. Dynasty’s services include contract negotiations, marketing, endorsements, charity, philanthropy and retirement planning for its clients.

Heitner created the first sports agent blog on the internet, SportsAgentBlog.com, which receives upwards of 3,000 unique visits per day from agents, athletes, media sources, and the general public. Blog discussions include everything from contract negotiations and endorsements to arbitration hearings. Vuckovich is a primary contributor to the website, where he oversees the interviews and internship sections.

Congratulations. But, I think you guys have a long road ahead of you if you want to turn the hobby of having athletes as clients into a legit profession. I think a post would be enlightening if you could desribe all of the start-up costs of an aspiring agent, all of the investments with usually little return. I wish your first client the best, but realistically will he ever be a big league player? Have you bought him his first set of shoes and gloves yet? Again, good luck with everything, but that press release was kind of silly.

I am sorry that you find a press release to be silly. Kyle Monroe-Dison has a great shot at becoming a big league player. We have set him up with a blog at Yardbarker.com. I suggest that you read his current post and future posts if you are truly interested in his progress.

We know that the road ahead of us is long, but we are ready for it. It has not been a hobby for us, and never will be. It is a business, and we take representation very seriously. Sure, we are entering our 1st year of law school and some people may not believe in us. For those that do, they will be sure to get 2 of the most passionate, and loyal agents in the world.

Start up costs for Dynasty Athlete Representation, LLC have been small. We have registered as a company in the state of FL (registration fees), we will have to register as agents in our respective states (quite expensive), and whatever costs go into our clients. Dison still has a short time left of rehab before he joins a team. We will see what happens once he is ready to get back onto the field in a true playing setting.

While I disagree with Jordan that having a press release is silly (it’s actually exactly what you should be doing to establish Dynasty and your client in the eyes of the public), I think he has a good point on some future articles. Being that you are an incoming 1L (along with Vuk), you are in a very unique situation with Dynasty. Reading about some of the challenges facing not only a first-time agent, but a first-time agent who is still going to school, could be a real eye-opener and exactly the kind of unique article/exclusive content I was telling you about that will help differentiate this blog and bring it to the next level. Obviously I’m not asking you to give away anything that is confidential in regards to yourself and your client’s success, but first-hand accounts on some of the trials and tribulations you have gone through this summer with setting up Dynasty and securing your first client could be a great piece to expand on.

I’m looking forward to reading Kyle’s blog and hearing how his rehab is coming along. The easy part is behind you (signing the client), the hard part is going to be getting Kyle back to playing shape and obtaining maximum value for his skills – which I have no doubt that Kyle and Dynasty will succeed with.

I agree with Andrew on all the major points he listed. Good job getting your name out there to the public, and articles with firt-hand accounts of what you are doing and how you are doing it would be much appreciated. Just think, if Dynasty Athlete Representation becomes one of, if not the, best agencies for athlete representation in the country then the notes you have written down about the beginning would be priceless to many aspiring sports agents, myself included.

Just curious how you now feel about the Monroe Dison press release. Saying he has a great shot at the Major Leagues? I couldn’t find anywhere we he even signed with a team? I also see he is longer a client so I was just curious if you had to do it all over again would you word the press release differently or possibly not even do one at all.

I really enjoy the site and trying to learn as much as I can.

Wow, going back real old school. Monroe-Dison is no longer a client. Yes, I have learned a lot about this business since first entering it over a year ago. However, I do not regret any moves we have made.
