Sports Agents on the Rise in the Far East

Yao Ming has been a great influence on American sports in China

Along with lighting engineers and coffee makers, the occupation of Sports Agent has been added as a new occupation by the Ministry of Labor in China.

Sports Agents have been added to the list while the Ministry continues to debate over whether occupations such as: entertainment agents, shoe designers, and wine tasters should be added. Quite a list of occupations that are trumped by the Sports Agents in China.

After finding the original article on the issue, I decided to do a little more research and actually found an article on this issue that links to this blog. I mention the site because I love the title of its article on the subject. The title is: China Says “Show Me The Money” and is posted on the China Law Blog.

All of this means that the business of being a Sports Agent is growing to be a true worldwide industry. Competition in the industry continues to expand, but with the increased necessity for Sports Agents in countries outside of the United States, opportunities may arise in nations such as China.
